The Workshop, the state of the art business hub

The Workshop, the state of the art business hub in Folkestone, has housed some of the most exciting businesses Folkestone has seen in recent years and has been a platform for many freelancers and entrepreneurs to work from and grow their businesses.

Since the birth of the start-up hub back in September 2013, The Workshop has been providing the space, as well as the support and guidance to many of its tenants. These have included one to one business and marketing advice sessions and various workshops throughout the year. In addition to this, The Workshop also hosts Monthly Meet-ups and social evenings in order to support the work-life balance people in business deserve!

James Avery, The Workshop Manager, said: “The Workshop is a truly unique environment for where businesses can develop and grow to become successful in their own right. We’ve seen so many examples now, of individuals utilsing the space to its full capability; enabling their client base to grow and providing opportunities via the professional contacts and relationships made. The atmosphere as always remained vibrant and certainly very welcoming – I’m very excited to see what exciting ventures our past and present tenants will achieve in the future.”

Chris Surridge, Director of Whitefish Marketing, said:“The modern facilities provided are ideal in our line of web marketing industry, offering a contemporary feel throughout, and often remarked upon by our clients. Likewise, the support has been second to none; providing nearby parking, offering affordable VOIP services and a constant high speed broadband. During our time at The Workshop, we have been fortunate to see a number of companies take occupancy and grow – ourselves included as we have recently employed another staff member and expanded our desk space within. Lastly, the networking opportunities within the building have allowed us to provide reciprocal work with other business occupants, in turn generating new sales and relationships which would have otherwise not been possible.”

The Workshop, located at 32-40 Tontine Street, provides facilities and services which are available to non tenants. There are also a number of hot desks, ‘permanent’ desks available for entrepreneurs requiring office facilities and monthly rates are £75 + vat for two days a week and £125 + vat for five days a week. The fee includes desk space (power included), Super Fast Broadband, Wifi – 4G, Printing (fair use policy), meeting room access and business rates covered. Break out space is available with tea/coffee making facilities (fair use policy).

Opening times are 8.30am-7pm Mondays to Fridays, except public holidays.
