TEDxFolkestone is looking for speakers

TEDxFolkestone will take place on Saturday 23rd June at The Quarterhouse in Folkestone and is looking for Kent people who want to share their inspirational stories and insight.

TEDxFolkestone is a platform for ‘unheard voices’ in addition to more accomplished speakers. A series of speaker development workshops will be held leading up to the event with the first one being a ‘Speaker Q&A’ event at The Workshop in Tontine Street, Folkestone from 6.30-8.30pm on Wednesday 10th January.

Anyone wishing to present a TEDx Talk in 2018 will have the opportunity to meet last year’s speakers, who will answer queries and offer inspiration and advice.

Confirmed speakers for the evening include:
Adam Henderson – The Millennial Mindset
Catherine Durin – Teacher and Trainer
Paul Basington – Copywriter and Communications Consultant.

TEDxFolkestone has set itself the challenge of hosting an event that champions inspiration, innovation, collaboration and leadership across the community and Kent businesses. Liu Batchelor, a Folkestone-based coach and project leader, and a committee of like-minded professionals are organising TEDxFolkestone and sharing the global TEDx mission of self-organised events that highlight ideas worth spreading.

For further information email hello@TEDxfolkestone.com or register for the Speaker Q&A.

The deadline for speaker proposals is Wednesday 31st January and final speaker selection will take place on 16th March.

Folkestone’s first TEDx event took place at The Quarterhouse last May and had the theme “Pushing the Boundaries”. It was a huge success and featured inspirational speakers from the community and further afield.
