The content at this workshop is aimed at pre-starts who have an idea but are not really sure how to take it further, and the workshop will include guidance on:

• Market research
• Basic marketing tools
• Pricing your product or service
• Key content for a business plan
• Forecasting – sales and cashflow

Folkestone and Hythe District Council offers a wide range of high quality support services for local businesses through a contract with Let’s Do Business. This service includes a consultation with a trained and experienced advisor and we have had some really good feedback from people attending, and since last May have had approximately 60 people coming in for advice.

I had so many fundamental questions that I couldn’t just google to find the answer to.  The business support sessions helped me to understand that I just needed to focus on putting together a strong business plan,  if the plan didn’t work, or the research didn’t show enough of a demand then I could quit before spending money and quitting my job to set up on my own!
