Early Years apprentice

The Shepway Apprenticeship Scheme has now funded over 350 apprentices through grants with local businesses. Katie Blomfield of Hawkinge was taken on by Jill Leigh, owner of Christchurch Nursery School, just over a year ago.

The Shepway Apprenticeship Scheme has now funded over 350 apprentices through grants with local businesses. Within a year of Alex Palmer starting a Shepway District Council funded apprenticeship at a Folkestone florist she had bought the business.

Plumbing and Heating Apprentice

The Shepway Apprenticeship Scheme has now funded over 350 apprentices through grants with local businesses. Daniel Hawkins from Lydd is employed by Gasworks Heating Specialists based at Mountfield Road Industrial Estate in New Romney and is the first WAI Apprentice of the Year with Worcester Bosch, market leaders in the manufacture of boilers and heating products. Daniel is currently working towards his NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing and Heating having successfully completed Levels 1 and 2.

Former apprentice Chris Buckle is Outreach Team Leader at Folkestone Sports Centre taking sport and exercise activities and healthy eating programmes to schools and local groups throughout the district.

The Shepway Apprenticeship Scheme has now funded over 350 apprentices through grants with local businesses. The 300th apprentice, Louis Hambrook, is training with Elite Community Coaching (UK ) Ltd to help young children develop new skills and enjoy sports and physical activities.
