Shepway District Council is very forward thinking and ambitious for growth. It welcomes new employers looking to relocate in the area and is assisting existing business through a flexible planning regime and funding to support growth. There are major developments already underway or planned, including the Folkestone Seafront development, that will transform the area.

Folkestone Urban Sports Park

The Roger De Haan Charitable Trust and Shepway Sports Trust have commissioned Guy Hollaway Architects to design an Urban Sports Park in Folkestone; the project is due to be completed in 2018.

Folkestone Seafront Development

Sir Roger De Haan’s company Strand House has ambitious plans to develop Folkestone’s seafront.  This mixed use development of 1,000 homes, sports amenities and public space, and business accommodation has public funding investment from the Government’s Local Growth Fund through the South East Local Enterprise Partnership.
