Visitor numbers soar to 99% of pre-pandemic peak

The following extract is from a Visit Kent press release:

According to recent economic data published by Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) Visit Kent, the region’s tourism industry has demonstrated impressive recovery in 2023, reaching 99% of pre-pandemic visitor volumes, with 66 million trips recorded – an 8.5% increase from 2022. This remarkable rebound underlines the resilience of the sector and its pivotal role in the economy.

Visit Kent commissioned the study which uses the industry-respected Cambridge Economic Impact Model to measure the volume and value of tourism within a destination and the effect of visits and visitor expenditure on the local economy.
