HOW TO APPLY FOR FUNDING FOR CALL 5 – Please contact the Programme Management team if you are interested

The Programme Management Team are available to assist applicants throughout the whole application process. Please contact the Programme Management Team on the email below, to discuss your project.

The application process is in two parts:

  • Part 1 is the completion of an Expression of Interest form and Eligibility Questionnaire – Please contact the Programme Management Team who can assist
  • Part 2 is the Full Application – please contact the Programme Management team if you are interested

Successful projects have to be completed by June 2022.

Folkestone Community Works is a Community Led Local Development (CLLD) programme which aims to support existing and potential businesses and entrepreneurs in the designated area to grow and to support residents in the central, east and harbour areas of Folkestone to access jobs.

You can apply for funding to delivery Action 3.8 as detailed below which is part of the programme’s Folkestone CLLD Strategy:

Objective 3 – Integrated delivery mechanism for the strategy

Action 3.8: Setting up and operating the Employability/ Enterprise/ Community Hub (ERDF funding)

The Call is seeking projects to create Employability/Enterprise/ Community Hub to facilitate the delivery of programmes and services to support the following Strategic Objective of the Folkestone Community Works programme:

  • To promote social and economic cohesion in the Folkestone Community Works CLLD area through interventions to help residents access jobs and to support businesses to grow and provide new job opportunities

The maximum ERDF funding available is £250,000, (ERDF funding has to be matched from non-EU funding).

HOW TO APPLY FOR FUNDING FOR CALL 6

The Programme Management Team are available to assist applicants throughout the whole application process. Please contact the Programme Management Team on the email below, to discuss your project.

Funding is available and applications are welcome until the Local Decision Panel meet in December 2020.

To support applicants, we will be offering the following support prior to the Full Application submission deadline:

  • Workshops:
    • Introduction to Folkestone Community Works Programme and ERDF funding: What the Programme is looking to achieve; ERDF funding; Project application process and associated forms; Project financing; Project outputs; Cross Cutting themes requirements and Publicity requirements
    • Developing a Project Application: Project budgeting, including for staff costs and other costs (direct and indirect); Evidence requirements for financial claims; Understanding ERDF outputs and the evidence requirements for claims; Developing a sustainable development policy and plan for the project
  • 1-2-1 support with an EU funding specialist when a draft application with budget is submittedSuccessful projects have to be completed by June 2022.

Successful projects have to be completed by June 2022.

The Call is seeking projects to deliver one or more of the following business support services:

Objective 2 – Promoting local business and social enterprise

  • Assist potential entrepreneurs on their journey to starting an enterprise.
  • Help start-ups including the self-employment to establish and succeed.
  • Support the start-ups, self-employed and SME businesses in the FCW area to grow, thereby creating new employment opportunities for local residents.

The maximum ERDF funding available is £174,000, (ERDF funding has to be matched from non-EU funding).

  • Action 1.1: Work experience and job preparation for young people
  • Action 1.3: Promoting emotional and physical well-being
  • Acton 1.4: Promoting financial well-being
  • Action 1.2: Getting people back into work

The Call is seeking projects to deliver one or more of the following employability support services to residents in the FCW area:

  • Support unemployed residents who are available for work and actively seeking work in the FCW area into either:
  • employment including self-employment, or
  • into training or education if they were not in education or training on joining your project
  • Support economically inactive who want to enter/re-enter the workforce into either
  • active job search, or
  • employment including self-employment, or
  • training or education if they were not in education or training on joining your project
  • Promote financial well-being for the unemployed and/or economically inactive

The maximum ESF funding available is £400,000, (ESF funding has to be matched from non-EU funding).

Early submissions welcome

To support applicants, we will be offering 1-2-1 support throughout the process

This call is to provide grants for small and medium enterprises (SME). This includes start-ups and sole traders that are located within the Folkestone CLLD.

This grant funding supports the Folkestone CLLD Strategy Objective 2 – Promoting local business and social enterprise by delivering Actions:

Actions      2.5: Promotion of SMEs and Social Enterprise and SMEs

2.6: Support for SMEs and Business Start-ups

The minimum ERDF grant available is £1,000 and the maximum is ERDF grant £7,500. This has to be 100% matched. For example, a project costing £4,000 will consist of £2,000 ERDF grant funding and £2,000 match funding supplied by the applicant.

Successful projects have to be completed by 31 March 2021 however, please contact the Programme Management Team for further details.
