We have been designing and manufacturing folding furniture for education and community use, in Hythe since 1973. Established in 1954, we started out producing high end folding furniture for retail including Liberty’s of London and Heal’s Furniture, moving on to manufacturing folding tables in the 1960s. It was from this simple idea that we developed our extremely successful and iconic range of aluminium folding tables in the early 1970s which we continue to make to this day.

Our Business

All products that we produce are either folding or flat packed. This means that we can utilise the services of a National Carrier and offer a next day delivery service. Using aluminium as the core material, our products are innovative, lightweight, durable and guaranteed to last a lifetime.

We have developed an excellent reputation in the educational procurement sector, with Gopak products regularly being specified for school dining halls. In addition we supply to churches, village halls and any other community organisation or businesses who recognise the advantages that a Gopak product can offer. We have a developing export market, supplying our range of Ultralight staging to France, Belgium, Holland, Germany and the UAE.

Location – Hythe

We relocated from Canterbury to Hythe in 1973 finding that the business rates were attractive and there also an available plot on a new industrial estate being developed on Range Road in Hythe.

Over the years we have increased our m2 significantly to meet the demands of our growing business and have been fortunate enough to acquire neighbouring properties to enable us to remain in Range Road.

Advantages of Hythe

Hythe provides an exceptional location with both stunning countryside and the sea literally on our doorstep. Lunch breaks are often spent walking on the Promenade or just taking in the fresh sea air and views across the English Channel.

We all appreciate the hassle free commute, with most of us enjoying a short journey to work, some cycle and take advantage of the Bike to Work Scheme that we offer. Being in close proximity to the M20 and ferry ports provides good access for raw materials being brought in and finished goods being despatched to both UK and European customers.

We are members of the Kent Chamber of Commerce and work with UKTI who continue to provide useful support and advice for our exporting efforts.
