Pentland Homes

Pentland Homes builds contemporary, high quality homes in some of Kent’s most desirable locations. With roots stretching back to the 1970s, we’ve spent decades building our reputation as one of the county’s premier housebuilders.

In the last few years, we’ve grown from building approximately 30 homes per year to over 100 in 2016, and we’re proud to say that quality remains the heart of our business.

The number of staff we employ has also increased significantly, and we now have almost 40 direct employees at our Head Office and at our site and sales offices, in addition to the hundreds of subcontractors working on our developments. On average, we have over 100 subcontractors working across all of our sites every day.

As a family-run business, we are able to provide a level of service and attention to detail that distinguishes us from national housebuilders. Our space and quality standards are foremost when we develop new sites and house types. We prioritise quality in design and in the products we use, and strive to exceed customer expectations with attentive, long-term customer service.

LOCATION – North Downs

When our Head Office team was smaller, our office was based in one of our newly built homes in Hawkinge, but as our staff expanded we relocated to our current Head Office at Etchinghill Golf Club, owned by our sister company Pentland Golf and Leisure.

We are a Folkestone-based company, and currently have sites in Folkestone, Hawkinge, Sissinghurst and New Romney, and have recently completed very successful developments in Dover, Ashford and Canterbury.

In 2017,  we will be launching new developments in Hollow Lane in Canterbury, Lydden near Dover and a new phase in Hawkinge of 47 family homes.

Folkestone has gone from strength to strength in recent years, and we have a great deal of purchasers moving from London, Surrey, the West Country and further afield, as a result of excellent transport links, including HS1, access to the M20 and M2, and of course the EuroTunnel and Port of Dover.

Recent investment in the town has made it a very desirable place to live, with the Creative Quarter and the newly opened Harbour Arm offering an excellent quality of life. Shepway District Council continue to be very supportive of the company and what it brings to the town, not just in employment but also in terms of the quality homes we provide.

Within our commercial units in Hawkinge, we have seen a wide variety of start-ups and extensions of existing local businesses. The connection to the continent together with easy access to London makes this area ideally placed for many different industries.
