The Grand shortlisted for major industry award

The Grand is proud to have been shortlisted for the “Institute of Hospitality Best Student Placement Scheme” award for our work with Schools, Colleges, Universities & people with hidden or visible disabilities.

This follows an amazing year where The Grand’s team has engaged with students and supported careers programmes at various levels at Canterbury Christchurch University, Angela Ruskin University in London, St. Columba’s Boys School, The Shaw Trust Disability Charity, Folkestone Job Centre, Towers School Ashford and numerous schools in Folkestone.

General Manager Robert Richardson FIH said “It’s always been a privilege for my team and I to work with some incredibly talented careers leaders both locally and further afield in London (culminating in a recent, and highly successful, careers education project led by ourselves working with Harrods, Preferred Hotels and Resorts, Dukes Hotel London and the Dorchester Collection) and to be shortlisted for such a prestigious award is testament to the efforts of The Grand to be the best ambassador for our industry and our district that we can be. Win or lose on the night, it’s the journey that brought us here that’s important”.

The Awards are due to take place at The Waldorf Hotel in London in June.
