The Romney Marsh Partnership has a focus on helping local businesses in the Folkestone and Hythe District address the skills gaps found when Young People enter the world of work.
The Partnership works with local schools and colleges to help shape future curriculum needs by addressing the skills gaps at local levels. We can only do this with the help of local businesses. With current rising labour shortages affecting most sectors, employers are struggling to fill job vacancies, especially in low-paying sectors. The Skills Group want to work more closely with you, as a local business, to ensure these shortages can be tackled. There is currently a survey on the Folkestone & Hythe District Council website for businesses to let us know where you see the gaps. By completing this survey, you are helping us to address these gaps. Click here to take part in this survey.
Is there another way to help? Yes, and you can do this by giving us only a small amount of your time, either virtually or in person to provide valuable discussion forums for young people. Young people are keen to find out what is available to them, they need to know what you, as employers expect, and you as employers need to tell them. By helping this group you are helping to shape the future generation, pass on that valuable knowledge you have, invest in something worthwhile, this will not cost you anything but a short amount of time, perhaps once a quarter, so why not join our “ Friends of the Skills Group” now. Contact Linda Marsh at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information on how you can help build a vibrant, local economy for the next generation, get involved and make a difference.
