Business Forum to prepare for 149th Open Golf Championship
In preparation for the 149th Open Golf Championship at the Royal St. Georges in Sandwich next year, Dover District Council have extended an invite to Folkestone & Hythe District businesses to come to a business forum in Sandwich to hear about ways businesses can benefit.
The Open is the biggest sporting event hosted in Kent and it’s returning to Sandwich from 12-19 July 2020. Along with the Championship itself, there will be a whole host of visitors and contractors in East Kent from Spring 2020 as part of the event set-up. The influx of visitors during the Open is the perfect opportunity to showcase the area and provide revenue to local businesses.
The guest speaker, Richard Baker, will be providing examples of ways local businesses became involved and benefited from the successful 148th Open Golf Championship at Portrush: Richard was a Director at Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council and a member of the team that delivered the event successfully.
The event takes place on Thursday 5th December at The Bell Hotel in Sandwich and runs from 6pm – 8pm.
