Music at Work Week

This week is Music at Work Week, a week designed to encourage employers to integrate music into their workplaces.

Over recent decades, many studies have shown that, when used properly, music can reduce stress, improve productivity and make workplaces more enjoyable.

Folkestone is also the first Music Town in the world, so it would be great to get more workplaces embracing not only listening to music but also participating in it. From choirs and music lessons to encouraging your team to develop their own music playlist, joining in can improve working relationships and improve staff morale.

The week lasts from November 25 – December 1, 2019, and is endorsed by the PPL and PRS for Music.

The Found in Music webpage gives some great tips on how to make your workspace more tuneful without affecting productivity, examples include letting staff listen to music on headphones, introducing different types of music to different areas, and starting your own office choir. Check out all their tips here.
