Folkestone51 features in Dezeen
Folkestone51 features in Dezeen’s “Twelve buildings to look forward to in 2021”.
Folkestone51 is said to be the world’s first multi-storey skatepark and an incredible engineering feat.
There is already much talk about this groundbreaking initiative. It will contain three floors of billowing concrete surfaces that function as ramps, moguls and ledges for skateboarders and BMX riders, with the goal of preventing young people from moving away from the area.
The multi-storey action sports park is seen as an investment for young people and will be located in Folkestone town centre, at the junction of Dover Road and Tontine Street.
The Roger De Haan Charitable Trust and Shepway Sports Trust commissioned Hollaway Studio to design this new multi-storey indoor skatepark in Folkestone; the project is due to be completed in 2021.
Shepway Sports Trust will manage F51, which will also provide a new home for Folkestone Amateur Boxing Club.
