England’s Creative Coast Digital Launch

You are invited to the digital launch of England’s Creative Coast on Thursday 29th April 2021.
The launch will include the unveiling of; the first artwork of seven new commissions as part of the Waterfronts series, the world’s first art geotour, an Art Homes pilot and the extensive engagement programme.
Join Visit Kent to hear from Hazel Edwards (Arts Council England South East Area Director), Sarah Dance (England’s Creative Coast Project Director), Deirdre Wells (CEO of Visit Kent), and Tamsin Dillon (Curator of Waterfronts) who will be leading a discussion with Michael Rakowitz (Artist and Nasher Prize Laureate).
In addition to Michael Rakowitz whose commission will be unveiled, you’ll also have the opportunity to hear from the other artists who have made new work for the project: Andreas Angelidakis, Mariana Castillo Deball, Holly Hendry, Jasleen Kaur, Katrina Palmer, and Pilar Quinteros.
England’s Creative Coast is a landmark project between seven outstanding arts organisations — Cement Fields, Creative Folkestone, De La Warr Pavilion, Hastings Contemporary, Metal, Towner Eastbourne and Turner Contemporary — to create a new outdoor cultural experience that connects art with landscape and local stories with global perspectives.
