Learn about Kickstart to create local jobs
12th April 2021 2:30pm
The local Folkestone Jobcentre is holding an event for employers to learn about Kickstart on 12th April.
Join them to hear more about what support is available, how Kickstart works and what financial support is being offered to employers
Kickstart is the government’s initiative to provide funding to create new job placements for 16-24 year olds on Universal Credit and those at risk of becoming long-term unemployed.
Employers of all sizes can apply for funding which covers:
- 100% of the National Minimum Wage (or the National Living Wage depending on the age of the participant) for 25 hours per week for a total of 6 months
- Associated employer National Insurance contributions
- Employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions
You no longer need a minimum of 30 job placements to apply directly for a grant. And employers can spread the start date of the job placements up until the end of December 2021.
The event will also share some of the good news stories regarding progress into work and the benefits businesses have gained as a result.
If you would like to attend or have any queries about the Kickstart Event please confirm your attendance by emailing ryan.thomas@dwp.gov.uk.
