Kent Residents Survey – Measuring Tourism Impact

This survey aims to better understand resident perceptions of the social, economic, and wellbeing impacts of seasonal tourism and the COVID-19 pandemic on resident communities in Kent. We will conduct the survey every 6 months covering the summer and winter periods. This is our third survey.

Results of the second survey (Winter 20/21) can be seen here.

This survey is part of the Interreg Experience project. This initiative seeks to ensure the sustainable growth of seasonal tourism across different destinations in England and France. The aim is to do so without jeopardising the eco-systems, and quality of life of resident communities.

When we say summer tourism we mean people on day trips, people coming from further away for a few days or more as well as those visiting their local area during the summer season between April –  September.

This research is conducted for Visit Kent and the Kent Downs AONB by the University of Surrey, and is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. Your participation in this survey is voluntary, and you may discontinue at any time. Any data collected will be kept strictly anonymous and confidential.

You must be 18 years or older to complete this survey.

This survey will take approximately 12 minutes to complete, and you will be entered into a prize draw with the chance to win a £50 shopping voucher.
