Running your event safely in Kent

The UK Government has issued a COVID-19 four-step plan to ease lockdown in England and new guidance on reopening businesses and venues in England has been published. Following the move to Step 2, further settings are permitted to open from 12th April 2021.

The latest government guidance is designed to assist local authorities in ensuring that events are able to go ahead safely and in accordance with what is permitted at each step of the UK Government’s roadmap out of lockdown.

As the event organiser, you are legally responsible for making sure attendees and staff are safe. If you’re planning to stage a public event as lockdown eases, Kent County Council are there to help you do so safely.

Locally, Folkestone & Hythe District Council has a safety advisory group which can help by reviewing your plans and providing advice.

Visit Kent has also issued relevant guidance for tourism businesses.
