2017 Great Taste Awards for Fudge Kitchen

Lyminge-based Fudge Kitchen has won another four prestigious awards at the annual Great Taste Awards, organised by the Guild of Fine Food.

The awards are the recognised benchmark for speciality food excellence, a stamp of approval from 500 judges blind tasting in teams of three or four, judging products purely on taste, not on marketing.  Fudge Kitchen has now won 15 Great Taste Awards since 2010.

This year’s awards are for Fudge Kitchen’s sugar-free Peanut Brittle, sugar-free Sea Salted Caramels, Stem Ginger Liquid Fudge and Juniper and Kaffir Lime Dry Gin fudge which the judges described as “ridiculously enjoyable.”

“It is a great honour to have been awarded four more Great Taste Awards,” said Fudge Kitchen MD, Sian Holt. “These are the ultimate differentiating rubber stamp for fine foods. Our products have always been about the quality of the ingredients, texture and flavours and the authenticity of our production techniques, so to be judged on these alone and to be recognised for our efforts is particularly thrilling,” she added.

Sian herself has previously been awarded a Special Award for Leadership and Vision by Produced in Kent and listed in the Kent Business Power List of 40 most influential business leaders in Kent.

Fudge Kitchen was named Ambient Manufacturing Company of the Year at the 2014/15 industry Oscars, the Food Manufacturing Excellence Awards.

Fudge Kitchen’s sugar-free varieties use Zùsto, a sugar substitute from Belgium, which has four times less calories than graduated sugar.
